1x 256mb ddr laptop memory (free)

    1x 512mb ddr2 laptop memory (free)

    2x 256mb ddr pc2700 (free)

    2x 512mb ddr2 pc2-5300e ecc hynix (£5)

    2x 2gb nanya ddr2 ecc registered pc2-5300p (£50)

    2x 1gb crucial pc2-5300e ecc (£30)

Dont want to hi-jack a 'For Sale' thread, but I thought I'd just clear up the confusion...

EEC ram is normally used only in servers where data integrity is important (reliability). Its also a little slower than non-eec ram (again reliability). But if your m/b only supports ecc ram then thats what you have to use. If it doesnt need eec than stay with non-eec.

im no expert, youll usually find ecc being used on higher end systems and servers etc.
im not sure if it would work with standard stuff. someone else could probably help better with that.

I'd like 1x 512mb ddr2 laptop memory (free) if it'still going mate, setting up an old HP lappy for the wee fella and this would be a nice wee boost to the 256Mb currently in it.

    Cheers

    Steve
