Default Upgrading from Ixtreme 1.6 question

    Hi all.
Been a while since I played about with my 360 and it has still the drive (lite-on) flashed to Ixteme 1.6 (not been online so it has not been banned).

Can I upgrade to the latest version simply using Jungleflasher or is there anything else I need to know first?

Thanks in advance for any help

You won't need a probe if it's already flashed bud
Just connect to a ck3 and dummy from ixtreme in JungleFlasher... simples

I would check out the dash version though as you could have a JTAG'able box and it would be a real shame to waste it if you have

If you have your old backup dummy.bin file (which you should !), simply power up the drive (you can use the xbox as a power supply), start JF, click Open Source Firmware, find your dummy.bin, click yes to the Auto-load question, then go to the MTK Flash32 tab, click Lite-on Erase, yes a couple of times, power cycle the drive, after which it will erase, then click Write, wait a min, then when done click Outro, and you're done.

If you dont have the backup dummy.bin file, or you are in any doubt whatsoever that the dummy.bin file isnt from your drive, then go with the "Dummy from Ixtreme" option, but you will have to power the drive with the tray half open (check the latest JF guide), which is tricky to do if you dont have a ck3.

    Thanks.
From when I first flashed the drive I do have the original dummy, key, identity files taken from the lite-on (took it 4 times to make sure the key was the same for all, and have it backed up on 2 other drives as well

What I did find when going up to 1.6 was the original files did not contain the serial info. Never stopped it working, but I patched one set of the original files reading the codes of the labels as required.
Did I have to do that? Has not stopped it working whatever the case.

Also not been online with the box since about a month before the banhammer late on last year, so as far as I can tell it's not been banned (still getting valid warranty info when I check as the MS site). Last time I played a game online was a few months before that as well so I might have missed whatever MS was doing to spot the flashed drives (hopefully).

Also, what is the significance of the box being JTAG'able? Mine was manufactured late July 2008, so it wasn't an early launch release.

Lastly, since I aint sure about going online, is the latest version of Ixteme 'safe?' and can I upgrade the console software via PC Download and a USB key rather than having to go online for it?
