    Default de Jongs tackle

after seeing various different opinions on Nigel de Jongs tackle on Ben Arfa but not seeing the incident i was left with a impression that it was a horror 2 footed tackle commited with venom.

Now ive seen it and WTF is wrong with everyone, yeah its terrible that Ben Arfa has sustained a double fracture but the tackle was NO worse than any one of hundreds i have seen where a player has gone in for the ball and the opposite number has been left a crumpled mess on the floor but got up and carried on playing with no harm done its just unlucky that on this occasion the poor guy ended up with a broken leg.

All the talk of the tackle being made with intent to injure is just frigging pathetic.

Agreed and im not saying he is whiter than white because clearly he is not, some of his tackles leave a lot to be desired but taking this incident only into account then there was no malice or intent in that tackle!

The man is often a tit on the pitch, but the way he just got up and went after the ball suggests this wasn't intentional. When you see players do a malicious tackle they always seem to take a look back or hang around. Not saying he didn't intend it, but I just can't see it.

To be fair he would of known ben arfa had broke his leg.

I was unfortante enough to break somebodys tib and fib 2 week ago. Fuk me did i know about it.
The noise is rank and the feeling around my own leg was sickening. The look on the lads face will proberbly stick with me forever.

Luckly enough it was a great challenge and the lad pulled out a little and that is how it happend.
All his team mates and manager where great towards me and have kept me informed on how the lads doing.

So when you say dejong ran for the ball is pointless. he may have knew he had broke the lads leg and didnt wanna make it look like he meant it.

The guys a quality player on his day but he is just a cunt full stop

First things first, without being close enough to the player and the tackle neither of us know exactly what sort of break it is. The leg didn't look even slightly mis-shapen so personally I would look at ruling out a compound fracture or clean break. This could (and I stress "could" because we just don't know) mean there was no noise to hear. I was behind the goal when Busst broke his leg at OT and also a similar break at a non-league ground and even being that close I only heard the players scream and not the snap which would've been far louder than the sort of break(s) this appears to be.
I've watched it again just now and I totally stand by my opinion that he didn't know what damage had been done. I would suggest that maybe your avatar gives away why you want to disagree, but no doubt you would just say it has nothing to do with it.

I agree. you would think listening to TalkShite that this was some kind of horror tackle. It was not.

The guy does have history for this though.

I aint saying this cause im a united fan but u can tell when a tackle is being put into get somebody.

In no way did i think he was trying to break the lads leg. He just wanted to let a skillfull player know he was around.

This is done in every league around the world.

saying he didnt mean to get him is like saying keano didnt mean to get alf in halland

As a NUFC fan, I see no problem with the tackle at all. It's just one of those unfortunate incidences. There is nothing to see here, move along...

yeah i agree in that it was a full blooded tackle, and because ben arfa didnt see the tackle coming he was grounded, if he would have seen it coming he could have tried avoiding it leaving himself in the air the flip over like the wingan player did against wolves, although i can see he did get lauched, i think that because his foot was planted there was only going to be one outcome, unfortunately for him because he was looking liek a good player to watch this season too.

It is being reported on Sky Sports News that Newcastle want some action taken against De Jong by the FA.

well good job the FA have said there is nothing they can do now isnt, as the ref saw the incident and didnt think it even warranted a free quick.
