Default Null modem cable with Elvis?

My elvis programmer uses a serial cable to connect to my pc, I am guessing this is a null modem cable?

    No, you guessed wrong.

Your Elvis requires a "straight through" serial cable. You would use a null modem cable for programming new software in most digital boxes via the serial connector at the rear of your receiver.
