*these are VERY handy, used to use them around the pheasent pens for poachers, not sure about the legality of them but you can buy them in the uk. Basically a booby trap, when the tripwire is triggered it pulls the pin and the shotgun shell is detonated. I use an adaptor to make it fire 9mm blanks as they are easier to get hold of than shotgun blanks. If you were a little unhinged you could always load the traps with birdshot carts
They make a hell of a bang and scare the shit out of you, I have triggered a couple accidentally because I forget where I put them and fair near shit my pants They give a good fright and also let you know there is someone around the place...string them across paths or attach them to anything work nicking and when they walk off BOOM

A Gypsy once broke into our house when I was younger. It was a terrifying experience, I walked in on him while he was attacking my mother. That scene has been burned into my memory ever since.

I was only 8 at the time and it was a summer night, warm and close. Sometime after midnight I was awoken by a slapping noise and then the sound of a woman's pained cries for mercy. I gathered my senses, got out of bed slowly and started to approach my parents bedroom from where the sounds were emanating. I shouted to my mother but there was no reply, only more slaps and a woman's cry after every slap. The cries were unmistakably my mothers. So, I slowly opened the door to my parent's bedroom a little and tiptoed inside. Just enough so I could gingerly poke my head around the door and see inside.

It was like a scene from a Ken Russell film. A giant of a man, wearing nothing but a filthy leather trimmed corduroy waistcost, bearing down on my naked mother. He was attacking her from behind with such vigour that my mother's head was crashing against the headboard of my parent's bed.

One shovel like hand grabbed my mother's hair, like a horse's mane. His powerful hips were thrusting and pumping, like The Flying Scotsman with a belly full of red hot coal. His other hand was rigid by his side, helping the goon to keep balance and rhythm throughout this sustained attack. Every tenth pump or so was accompanied by a sharp and callous slap to one of my mother's already reddened buttocks, first the left, then the right.

I closed my eyes tightly, as tight as I could. I prayed to God. Please let me be asleep and wake up from this awful nightmare. But then came the immortal words that will forever echo through my tormented mind. "I'll show you what a real Gypsy can do", rasped the sweating beast as he delivered another sharp slap.

I couldn't stand it any longer, I ran. As fast as my adolescent legs would carry me, down the stairs, through the scullery and into the orchard outside. Through the trees I ran, past the greengage and damsons, finally coming to an exhausted halt under a large pear tree at end of the garden.

The next morning it was though nothing had happened. My mother was unusually cheerful and made me scotch pancakes for breakfast, something she almost never did. She even sang a little song to herself as the pancakes sizzled.

My 8 year old mind was in turmoil and I wondered if I had dreamt the whole thing. Fearing the worst I kept quiet and have done to this day.

i think its phosphorous, it has to be kept an thick oil, i think its that anyway.

@det, cant you rig up some of those extra loud fireworks you bought to some sort of booby trap, maybe aim at waist height so it can blow the balls off the fookers, that way they cant contaminate the rest of the world.
