It's been mentioned on here before but does your bank offer mobile insurance as part of your account? i paid insurance for a year before i realised mine did.

I pay about £8 per month for a silver account with Lloyds TSB which includes (among other things) mobile phone insurance for up to 2 handsets and it even includes loss by negligence (e.g. leaving it on a resaurant table).
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...

Yes it's fine. When you register your phone there is a series of drop down boxes which you use to put your make & model in. You also need to add the IMEI, have a read of their booklet (starts on page 6): http://www.lloydstsb.com/media/lloyd...lcome_pack.pdf

On a side note if you're with Lloyds TSB and keep any sort of balance in your current account phone them up & ask for "vantage" which is a really great interest rate. I received nearly £20 this month, which is great on a current account. You can even ask for this on their classic account

Now it's finding which bank offers the free ins etc for the cheapest monthly fee. I used to have First Directory but that went up to £12 a month and it was only the travel ins that I used which can be bought for say £40 so I cancelled it.

I have cover through Barclays Joint Account, Costs £15 per month but for that we get.

    Full AA cover
    Phone Insurance (only £25 excess)
    Holiday Insurance
Extra Years Warranty on new purchases
    Card Protection

Well worth it and the same cost as a individual account but with twice the benefit

Just a heads up for anyone using or thinking of using PYB Insurance, Their policy is like for like so when my ipad got run over they tried to replace it with what seemed like another ipad that had been run over.

Pay a bit extra elsewhere and get new for old cover

    Cheers

I got my insurance with my bank. Now my question is I want to report my phone lost, is there any point of ringing my operator to block it? My contract is with 02 which I had a 3GS, got a replacement one from apple so 02 don't have the new imei number. My insurance is covering my iphone 4 that my sister gave me.

Have you actually lost your phone? If you haven't you are admitting to insurance fraud which is a serious offence.

If you have lost it then the insurance company usually require a crime reference number from the police and confirmation from the operator that the IMEI is blocked.
