question before i upgrade to 4.1

am waiting on the 4.1 jailbreak coming tomorrow morning (if not a hoax)so i can upgrade to 4.1 but before i upgrade what is the name of the software i need to back up my cydia installed repos and cydia apps?
will i need to back up contacts ?

ps cydia says my shsh was saved how do i access these incase things go wrong

Rock App (in Cydia) has a backup function for your JB apps. If your SHSH is saved already then update to 4.1 in iTunes by downloading a clean 4.1 and holding shift when clicking restore. I am not sure what you can do about saving your contacts and app data, someone else may be able to help there.

grab aptbackup - use that to backup your cydia apps etc then when you have rejailbroke your phone tell it to restore and it will redownload and install everything you had on cydia

Just upgraded to 4.1 and jailbroke. Used this to back up all my apps, looks like it's saved all my settings too (it's still got my twitter feeds on lockinfo). Shit myself as when it rebooted after taking about 10 mins to restore it had none of my installed apps just the jailbroke ones. After around 3 mins of me looking at the springboard just to check I'd definitely lost them they all popped back up.

Saved me an hour of downloading the apps from cydia.

Just found out Rock and Cydia are now collaborating under Cydias app Cydia are integrating a backup feature but it is not released yet.

yea the rockapp is nothing of use now, shame really - their backup handling was pretty good
