That's all well and good, but a life-like game that lets kids play and mess with animals might just make them think that real animals are like that.

I foresee a load more incidents of dogs and other animals attacking kids because they think they can go up to someone's pit bull and rub it's ears.

Cute yes, but the sceptic in me always looks on the dark side!

in my opinion the only game worth playing at the moment is the sports games Mainly because that's to me is the only game that you feel like your interacting. at the moment I can't see how main stream games like FPS games are going to played on the kinect but hey lets wait and see. All in all I think it's quite good but I don't thing any of the titles are aimed at adults yet.

I think that FPS will stick to the joypad but also use the Kinect to issue voice commands, lob grenades etc. It's going to be very interesting. Can't wait

Or how about reach over your shoulder to grab and then throw the grenade. In real life you wouldn't keep both hands on your gun to lob a Grenade now would ya ?

I like that idea, But only problem is you would have to stop everything you was doing e,g moving just to lob a grenade.

Y but you would in real life. Guess we will just have to wait and see I suppose. I am trying to keep an open mind on what it's potential is going to be. I'm sure it won't fail though.

what benefit would that be to me? Of course i don't want it to fail but I'm having trouble understanding how it could work well on such a game. Like Belial said, how do accelerate and brake?

    * Looking round corners would need the head tracking technology that was shown aaaages ago *

How would head tracking work? If you look left or right, you're not looking at the TV any more

i can see it working well for on-rails shooters as i played one in the arcades a good few years ago that you physically ducked when bullets were coming at you. That worked well, just can't see it working on a real fps.

Yeah, it looks so much worse than standing in your living room shaking a glowing ice cream cone around doesn't it.

At the end of the day the proof will be in the pudding. The wii has proven that a lot of people want this kind of gaming, and kinect is simply the more advanced xbox equivalents. Whether ultimately some of the big titles will support it remains to be seen on the success of it as a device, and none of us know that as yet. As usual, there are people who will say its shit before its even launched, I reckon a lot of people probably said that about the Wii, just its name was enough for people to denounce that. Its each to their own, the fact is there's a choice out there now that means I don't have to have a horrible little white box sitting under my tv with multiple handsets and lumps of plastic just to make the kids happy. Thats a plus. That they (we ) can play some silly fun games as a family is good. That I can earn g from doing so even better
