Default First pics with Macro ring

There has been a spider in our garden building some amazing sized webs. I went out this afternoon to get some pics which to be honest wern't the best. I suddenly remembered that I had 4 macro rings which came with the camera and decided to give them a try. These are the two I liked:

    One taken with standard lens

    From Drop Box
    Macro Lens

    As always comments welcome!

The final shot is the best of the bunch and a good start too.

I would recommend focussing on the mandibles, as the thorax isn't as impressive. Although i do like the detail on it's spinnerets.

    Great start.

Agree with MML - try to get the focus on the interesting part of the insect which is usually the eyes with things like flies, wasps etc, but in the case the mouth parts or head.

If you can get a different angle to get the 'head' more in shot they have pretty impressive eyes and fangs when you get the focus spot on.

Thanks very much for the comments, I can't get a decent look at the head as it always seems to be head down. It's still outside so hopefully will get a better chance of getting it head up.
