Hi
I have been trying to print some photo's on glossy paper.
The colour comes out ok but the black gives a wierd
look, like its not dry, also some times sort of purple.
My printer is a epson 740i.
thanks

glossy or photo glossy paper if just straight glossy paper (not really meant for inkjet printers) you will have a problem but if it is photo glossy paper it may be that the black is not really black although it looks like it is on the monitor a blue tint is typical over exposed black try uping the contrast or lowering the brightnes of the photo (not the monitor ) to maake sure black is really black
another point are you using compatable inks or genuine epson because some of the compatable ones are crap there allright for generic stuff but photo's really need the best you can get which unfortunatly are usually genuine cartridges
stateing the obvious but you are selecting the right kind of paper in the printer setup
Ive had some crap photo paper in the past and find epson photo paper the best, i even use it on my hp930c now.
Also make sure your printer is set to photo paper befor printing.
What camera are you using ? I had this with a 1 maga-Pix camera, but ok with higher one.
