Any way of Playing PSP game wihtout upgrading

Bought the KId a psp 2000. Waiting on Pandora to arrive.
Bought the new BEN 10 game but it won't load unless upgrade to ver 6.
It asks to do this when game is inserted.
Any way to override it or should I just upgrade anyway and let the Pandora resolve it?

When I had a PSP back in 2005... I had the ability to boot it in a hacked firmware and then load a newer firmware for games needing it - surely the same feature still exists?

As long as your psp can definitely be used with a Pandora as not all 2000's can then there is no reason not to upgrade to 6 as the Pandora will let you downgrade any firmware as long as your board is compatible
