Blackberry Guru Required!

My daughters Blackberry has got itself stuck in the 'reboot loop'.

It's a Blackberry Curve 8320. Turns on, white screen with spinning red and blue hour glass.

Now this error is well documented and lots of people are struggling to repair it.

So far I have managed to wipe everything off it ready to reload the OS software back to it as mentioned using JL_Cmder v1.91.

It loads everything fine and gets to a process called 'Reconnecting to JVM' and fails.

I can get Windows to detect it as a Blackberry smartphone and the USB PIN is recognised. Some people that CANT get their USB PIN recognised are managing to get passed this step.

Has anyone dealt with this issue before and managed to solve it? Or is there a boot loader program that will force a OS directly to the phone without 'checking'?

Something I didnt notice due to the sound being muted is when it's plugged in, Windows is finding and removing the USB device every few seconds. Almost like it's turning off and on quickly.

HTC is my game - Anyone clued on these things?

I'm no expert, especially when it comes to Blackberrys but have you tried booting it up without the memory card?

Has not got a Memory card or Sim card in it.

Tried with and without the Sim card.

have you tried without the battery in, i know with my 9700 that it powered up and allowed a restore without a battery, and then put the battery in before the last step

I did try that as suggested on another forum, but after the 10th time, I gave up.

It does this -
Erasing Applications.... (about 10 minutes)
Loading System..........(about 5 minutes)
Reconnecting to JVM.....(about 3 minutes) and the phone connects and disconnects the USB all the time. If it stopped and just connected, I cant help feeling it would just work.

Also tried reinserting the battery during the Reconnecting to JVM stage too.

It's either USB or Power doing it - and after 4 hours of messing with it, I'm getting a headache.

also on the reconnecting to jvm part, try taking the usb out and the battery out and then plugging back in

Only got 1 laptop with Windows 7 32Bit on it.

Was hoping to try Windows XP, but this laptop wont do XP for some reason (BSOD's)

I'll give the USB and Battery jump a go...

Sorry if you've already done this - but I got my 9700 stuck in a (different type of) reboot loop, I only cured it by loading the latest s/w to the phone via blackberry desktop manager on my pc.

Tried alsorts in all different threads. I'd love to get this thing into Cal Mode. At least it might stay on for more than 13 seconds before restarting!

Anywho, decided to reinstall my machine with XP to see if the good ole OS sorts it out. Some people have said that Windows 7 doesnt seem to 'push' to connect to the phone or summink... Be right back in the past!

It may also be a power issue. The laptop USB port may not have enough power and may need to be plugged into a desktop PC or a powered USB hub.

The Samsung service box Ns Pro sometimes has this problem and needs a power adapter for certain phones.

Good suggestion - but I'm on a tower, the only thing plugged into USB is the phone and my mouse.

The power issues can also happen with a tower PC m8. Not all USB ports supply enough power for mobile phones.

Just a quick thought try crackmem instead of JL
