Default Have an Excel Test to do for first stage of interview

I have just been called for an interview...
Well its an Excel test that lasts 30 minutes. Not exactly sure what it will entail.

Has anyone else had to do one of these before?
    Anbody got any tests saved?

I googled it and it brought up a few website based tests, but they seemed pretty easy.
E.g. "how do you save an excel sheet"
    A - File > Save as
    B - File > Exit
    C - RUN!!

It is for a well known gas/energy supplier in Northern Ireland.

The job is working in a control room monitoring the gas network.

Best guess I can say is to go to a job agency that does temps/admin and ask to sign up. They will probably test you sperate for basic/intermediate/advanced. This will give you an idea of what employers are looking for - then hopefully with your job spec you will be able to get shit hot on everything that looks like it could be relevant (and a bit past that for the bonus points in case they come up).

The interview/test is on monday so I don't have much time for that.
I also have an interview on the same day and I have to write and present a presentation for it...

We did these at my old job for some people, I think it was done with a simulator thing that looks like excel and tests to see what you have done. Apparently quite annoying because it emulated an older version than the one we used in the office and didn't work for every single way of doing a particular thing.

I would definitely prefer the simulator or a real excel session as a test over an exam though, it's just not the sort of thing that is easy to remember in an exam.

So how did it go ?

sorry ain't been on here much - my pc is playing up.
The test was easy. It was just basically here is a list of customers A,B,C and how much gas they use per day. Design and put this all into a table. Then calculate the average per day and per week.

I say it was easy but at the time I kept rechecking because it seemed too easy.
Must be just to weed out the people who cannot use a computer.

Although I know a good few people who can use computers who probably would not have been able to do it right e.g. formatting the table, cell alignments and formulae.

I passed the test and got called for interview early next week.

Still waiting to hear back fom the other interview and I also have an interview this saturday so hopefully will get lucky with one of them.

Got a part time job recently but need something full time - poverty is not fun.

You've just brought back a bad memory of one of those - kept failing me cos I had different methods to what they wanted me to use.
