    Default Is paypal verification safe?

Seen a few items I'm interested in lately and the people state verified paypal only. Thinking of getting this done but wondered about other people's thoughts with this? Anyone had problems losing money from bank account with this?

Ive had paypal and ebay account for some years now and not had a problem yet.. I just have a couple of credit cards registered with them.

I recall a few years ago getting one of my cards verified via a payment then looked on my statement to enter their 4 digit code on my CC bill, but didn't realise this doesn't verify me on PP, just my address etc.

They just send a letter with a code to your address which you then enter into paypal then the you become Verified for the purposes of delivery.

To get verification doesn't paypal drop a small amount of cash into your bank account then takes it back out, never had any problems with paypal.

im sure they put 2 tiny amounts in like 46p and 52p and then you enter the amounts somewhere on your account then it verfies its you and your account and you the one accessing it and no one else

Thanks guys. The sites I want to buy on (not ebay) use PP and one in particular prefers PP BUT it must be a verified account which my current status says it isn't.

I'm looking to buy some specific electronic gear I can't source anywhere else (To my needs anyway) from a company in Australia and they state if the PP account used isn't verified, they'll refund money, end of.

I can see from their viewpoint regarding security etc. as we all know PP can rip buyers etc. so haven't got a problem with them stating that.

I've gone through the verified user process and I'm just waiting for the two small amounts of money to hit my account, then I go onto my PP account and enter these to complete verification.

I was just a little nervous about linking PP to my bank account but seems most people have had no real problems with it.

    Cheers

I would certainly be a bit worried about 'papal' verification.
What if the Hokey Cokey "IS" what it's all about?
