    moan Virgin Media's latest mess

I'm amazed that my Virgin services work, look at the box on my building. Virgin came out yesterday to add a phoneline for someone in the block, this is how they left the box. They took the cover off and left it by the side, it had blown halfway down the drive by this morning. They also dumped some old bits of cable in our carpark.

<Lionel Hutz> Oh I am, am I? Is that what you think? Well if that's what you think, I have something to tell you. Something which may shock and discredit you. And that thing is as follows. I'm not wearing a tie at all.

That is pretty bad, I guess your in a block of flats?

When VM came to do my services it was 'passable', but I sorted mine out myself. I've split mine about the same amount of times they did with that feed in the picture - mutli-room freeview, etc.

I am surprised that it does still work as my signal has been bleached out because I split it so many times.
Does your modem reboot itself alot? Mine used to because of poor signal strength.

    Flats yes. Modem rebooting, no.

    That is shocking!

With the CATV feed [and the jelly bean for the phone line] exposed to the elements like that you will get water ingress into the joints eventually which will give you allsorts of connection problems!

I'd be straight on the phone if I were you making a complaint

Virgin doesn’t give a flying fuck, my connection is totally shit till 11.30pm and then I only get an hour. We don’t download well apart from smallville once a week at 355mb yet throughout the day it runs shit. An engineer told me that Blackpool is the only town that can handle unlimited speeds and that 1 joint box/node in the street has unlimited capacity my reply was if that’s the case you would only need 1 to run the country yet there are 15 on my street. And my lines have more splits/splice than is that box.
