What's the score with the VW Camper Van they give you on the TopGear track? I can struggle past a couple of back markers but there's no way I can get that tired old shite up to the front. Am I missing something? I've been cruising up until now

    they are shit as fuck

just barge them out the way - carefully so you don't get DQ - I managed second after many attempts

We played this in 3-d at an event. It is pretty good (the 3-d aspect) but gets really off putting frequently. Maybe your eyes go a little skewed or it just struggles to maintain the 3-d quality i don't know. but I'll stick to normal 2-d.
Amazing game though, the 458 drives like a bith and punishes you at corners!
    Apathy? can't be arsed.

I found that slithering through on corners and drafting down the straights worked best for me but I did get about 50 DQ's in the process, especially when I kept clipping the cones, I found it best to get to the inside of a corner and keep the throttle on full but dab the brake to settle it mid corner and then block on the exit or stay wide and use lift off oversteer to get the switchback and then block and draft as needed

it did take a good hour to get a silver

It's a bloody nightmare. I managed 2nd on my 2nd attempt (dunno how) - been trying since to get a win and I must be up to 2 hours on it without success. Good fun nonetheless.

Anyone tried the 2nd Top Gear Challenge? The Lotus Elise? If they actually handled so "skittish" in real life they wouldn't have sold a single unit, it's all-but impossible to drive.

That camper van one was a nightmare, took a few attempts. In the end I got it by having a few light bumps on the short bends and late braking.

I had a another go online last night after a few days of not even turning on the PS3. What a blast! I joined a WRC room, it was fucking immense fun. I came about 5th out of 6 or so on my first go, the room owner changed the track to a snowy one and I thought ah fuck I'll be last now but I only won it! I won another one too on a dirt track, I was well happy because I've never been much good at rally games. 2 hours or so later after winning a few more and coming 2nd and 3rd a few times I was there in the car for real lol. I really, really enjoyed myself even though I had a banging headache and still do for some odd reason. 2 of the blokes were great and have added them as friends. Absolutely brilliant fun when you've got some decent people to play with and aren't trying to knock you off the track all the time. I went to bed all happy and content

Eh? I obviously don't know what you used to own but as an owner of a Exige and as someone who has spent a whole day at Hethel driving the balls out of the S2 Elise.... no they do not handle like that.

In the dry you have to be turning hard to get any oversteer at all... I was shocked that in GT5 when the back end flips out on slight bend. That just so doesn't happen. Its the same story with the braking. I have never known the ABS to kick in unless the surface is slippery... in GT5 you lock up all over the place!

I like it it reminds why I love the playstation, my only gripes so far are that the b spec licence is a total copy of past GT3 as well as same courses

Also one other thing when I try to race in GT mode B spec anycar it asks me to create a driver so that I can give him orders......fuck that I want to race myself

    What's the deal there?

Yeeeees, B spec is a bit pointless. My driver can't drive to save his life, The Stig he is not, his blind brother maybe.

Waste of time, tell mine to go faster or overtake and he goes off the track, tell him to hold pace and he gets passed by everyone wtf!

It's all about passing under braking and round bends, you can take them quicker than they do. Dunno how, but after 10 attempts and being DQ every time I somehow managed to get a gold in that.

They are PC wheels and not sold as a specific playstation wheel or endorsed by GT5 in any way. PD have included the coding to support the clutch & H-shifter, but I guess they mainly want to focus on the main GT wheel.

However, if it's the same for Prologue, then changing settings in the Driving Force Pro wheel settings page will alter them on the G25 as well.

Agreed. I tried the Exige out and it felt more like I was driving a souped up Vauxhall Nova and not a car that grips no matter what you throw at it. Although I've never driven the Exige I have driven a friends S2 and they handle very similarly.

Shocking really they call this the most realistic simulator ever yet the cars don't handle like the real thing (or anywhere close).
