Is that cos you know my alternator let the magic blue smoke out? lol

seriously though to get through the elise race stay on the insides of the turns and brake late then dont brake or accelerate around the turn just roll around and accelerate and block on the exits it took me about half an hour to get a full 2 laps in though because when I got up to 3rd an aston martin kept smashing into me and either knocking me off track or getting me a DQ, to get by him stay behind him into gambon then out brake and block as you cross the line

Does anyone know if this only gifts the car appropriate for your level?

I setup a second account and set the birthday as yesterday. Got a real crap 66BHP Honda. Deleted the save file and tried again and it delivered the same car.

Could be just a coincidence, but thinking its to stop people making new accounts just to get top cars to gift to your main account, not that I was trying to do that of course

Like it a lot. Totally hooked and loving it. Very much like the last 2 (Prologue & GT4), but teats what made them good...!!

Hmm, pretty disappointed myself. Lets see:

Fuck all races compared to gt4
    Useless licenses that seem easier
    Stupid level system
    Improved but questionable handling.
Shitty gfx for 80% of cars
Shitty gfx and music for menus
    Terribly laid out menus

It just hasn't gripped me the way gt 1-4 did.

I fired some music onto my PS3 and use that music for races and such.

Was doing a race to Scatman John the other day, lol.

I agree with a lot of this, actually I agree with all of the above however I still keep playing it........ Weird I know.....

Perhaps its because the 1960 Dodge charger with 525 BHP will go around most corners on full throttle...... Oh wait I think that may be the questionable hanling point above....

To be honest considering all the delays I thought it would have been a lot better but it is keeping me ammused at the moment..

One more point to add is the long loading times even after I installed 8GB of data to the HDD

I was very disappointed with GT5, before i get flamed I am not 360 fanboy as I have both systems! Forza 3 is a much better game. GT5 does have night/rain but its not enough considering the wait!

Also wtf happened to tyre wear? I loved picking strategies with hard tyres then keeping within so many seconds of the leader.
On that topic, what happened to races long enough to need to change your tyres?
What happened to power outputs for highly tuned cars that were close to what real life tuners got?
    What happened to brake upgrades?
What happened to qualifying laps so on solid tracks you could start in the lead, and also use the time to set your car up right for the track without ruining your stats?
What happened to the rally stages?

I could go on all day but the bottom line is they've totally ruined a brilliant game - in many respects gt5 is worse than gt1 even I reckon. As I've said time and time again, fancy gfx don't make a game and they haven't even done too well on that front.

I'll still play it here and there but I'm no longer dreaming of getting a samsung plasma and fanatec wheel/pedals to play it on.

    Rally stages in Special events
Tyre wear comes into play when you get on the longer races - endurance etc

Imho there should be a dedicated rally section. Also in the old games, you used to get long races (20-30 laps?) well before the endurance races. You could even get a silly power car and drive like a loon and notice tyre wear on short races.

Also I've got my s license, I've got some okayish cars but the cunt of a game won't even let me know there are any endurance races as I'm only level 23. POS.
