Just put this on my nokia. Quite nifty, send a text and it'll return a google maps gps location.. it even pointed to my front door lol.

Covers various phones (S60/Android etc.) Essentially uses the phones GPS function for location.

Seems pretty good. No iPhone version tho...

Wonder if it works even if GPS is turned off. IE will it turn it on to get a lock then turn it off again.

Yeah, you need a jailbroken phone. One of the (many) reasons I no longer have an iphone.

with the new 4.2 firmware you get a free cut-down version of mobile-me which includes the remote locate, message, lock, wipe application.
although i still use ilocalis
