it does look like they are broken but it will just be the way the shrink wrap has been closed up giving that effect.

Looks like massive holes to me!
I recently bought a few Ikea pans for some cooking I knew was going to destroy my good stuff. Got to admit that they hold up really well!
Don't think they will last forever though.
We all make mistakes sometimes
