Default combi boiler prob hot tap water but not much heat from rads

My moms Vokera option boiler heats up the water fine when we turn on the hot tap, have a bath or shower etc. but the rads never hot like they use too. some near the boiler get luke warmish others remain cold.

We've had a guy round who said the boilers knackered and quoted 1800 for a new one, but if the boilers so knackered why's it still heating the water up for the taps?

    thanks

probably daft but your rads dont need bleeding do they?
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Could be the pump's on its way out so only enough power to get it into the first few rads.

Try turning all the rads off except the one nearest the boiler and see if it heats up properly.

Sounds like the diverter valve might be stuck and its not returning to closed when you turn the tap off.....If you can find a picture for a replacement one, the you can locate yours and give it a gentle tap, to see if it frees it off.

I'd also check the pressure is good, if that's poor it could be a small leak somewhere.

I've checked the pressure it's saying about 2bar. I'll try the diverter valve if I can find it

The combi uses has a bleeder inside the boiler you can pressure up from underneath it, its usually just fills up the water pressure pushing out the air you pressure it up to 1.5 and it should be fine.

This gives you an idea but mines has a bleeder fitted so you dont need the daft key you see here.

I had similar problem recently with my Sabre boiler ( its a rebadged vokera )

Upstairs rads were hot downstairs were cold, turns out it was a blockage in a pipe from the boiler, feel the pipes going in to your boiler you should have an idea which ones should have some heat mine were the bigger pipes that should have been warm

Are you bleeding it properly? i.e. doing it when the boiler is off and doing the ground floor first. Also you can bleed the pump using the large screw on the top.

If its the pump or diverter valve you might have some luck giving them both a sturdy whack or two with a hammer also try turning the pump up to high for a few days to try and shift any blockages

I had the same on my combi about 7 years ago, I worked it out to be the 3-way valve(probably what they call diverter valve) got one from local shop about £35, fitted it myself(piss easy) never gone wrong since.
