iPhone 4 unlock on O2 now available FREE for contract owners

maybe old news now, and i know some have been lucky before using the below online form to unlock their iphone4's.

filled mine out yesterday and received an unlock txt this morning, well chuffed

O2 offer unlocking for their iPhone customers, unlock for iPhone 4 appears to be working now as well!

Even though the unlockmyiphone page on o2's website says they are not unlocking the iphone 4 yet, I just filled out the unlock request form a couple days ago anyway.

I just putting down "iPhone" for phone model, this morning I got a text from O2 saying that my iphone is unlocked. Tested by sticking an orange sim card into the phone and connecting to itunes, and successfully got the message in itunes that my iphone is now unlocked!

I had tried this a few times since the iphone 4 launch and each time got a text from O2 saying they cannot unlock my iphone. Even though I had confirmed with an online chat to O2 that they would be unlocking the iPhone in the near future.

The unlock my iphone webpage still says: "we won't unlock iPhone 4 until after the launch period. Please check back here for the latest information on unlocking iPhone 4"

This is the legitimate way for O2 customers to get their iphones unlocked.

Didn't need to fill up unlock form at all,
Go to the form page link in the post and chat advisor window would open, Gave him IMEI number of the iphone 4 and he got it unlocked in few seconds and told me to connect to itunes using non o2 sim, so I have done that. now own a fully unlocked iphone 4.

Does this require the original 02 sim in the phone at the time of unlocking? Ive got an iphone 4 on 02 which I've ultrasnowed and use on T-mobile. So I thought I'd get my mate who has an 02 contract to submit an application using his number and my imei but the unlock did not work.

just tried mine and they refused, saying it had not been supplied under the contract i was trying to unlock it on...
