    Default Just sharing with you

I thought i would share my last weekend project with you guys.I like a few people like ot take the 360 with them from time to time but im a roofer and needed it to not look out of place in the back of my van.
So i striped out an old tool but (yes i can clean it but i wont)and got to work and it would have been so much easer if the misses had not said keep it so you can change xboxs so the kids can use it to go to there nans with.
i could also use any ideas on how i can make the xbox pop up when opening the case. i did try a wire to lift it but dont want one in the middle.

Good job mate, not quite benheck standards but pretty cool

How is the screen powered, as I can only see one power lead coming from the case, which I assume is the 360?

Also not sure how having the 360 at an angle like that will affect the drive laser / motor.

    Well done!

You tried some spring steel or something similar underneath the box to lift it up?

cant do it benheck way and keep the xbox hole but i do have an xbox here with all the ports removed so i could mount them into the side of an old briefcase till i was asked nicly to keep the xbox hole so its easy to change.
i also think its ok to have the drive at an angle as long as it dont change when in use.
the screen is powered using 12v in the vga lead and the speakers are pretty dam good to the mag on the back is as big as the front and its loudness is enough that when i play upstairs with it on 1/2 vol her indoors still shouts at me LOL

    thanks for the kind words

the screen uses a 12v power source that plugs into the vga and has a power pack on the outside

you see the black plug in the blue vga it uses a lap top type powerpack

I'll be honest I'm still not sure how that works lol!
So you have just run the normal power cord through the vga connection, or is there some electrical jiggery pokery going on?

I was gonna attempt a 360 laptop last year to take travelling with me, but after seeing benheck chop circuit boards and power boards and all sorts, the electrics scared me off in the end.

    Sorry for my nobness
