Sorry about that. The server was up, but for some reason wasnt accepting connections. Rebooted it now and its fine now (tested with DroidFTP).

The rom is for both according to Modaco....but as you are taking a backup, it doesnt matter if it doesnt work, just restore.
As I understand it there are some supplies of oled still in the shops on black ones, but those are quickly being replaced by tft's. All the white ones are all tft apart from one excetion...Paul at Modaco has done a screen transplant.
The TFT's are inferior to the OLED's so its a great shame they have moved over to them....but its not a deal breaker...they are still superb value phones on TFT's.

grabed one of these the other day, does debranding and putting the costom rom have any affect o battery usage? mine doesnt last a night at work! took it of charge at 11pm last night before i left at 100% 4am it was flat as a pancake! (wasnt even using it) and didnt finish work till 5pm so sorta need to sort this battery prob out or get another new phone!

I found this Alpha 4 rom to be much better on battery usage than the prior roms. But as with most smart phones these days, you are doing to well to get more than a day or so out of it. It seems pretty much expected that you have a usb charge lead on your pc during the day at work.

One thing I have found with this currentl Alpha4 rom is that every few days, Im getting a screen freeze where the phone is working but wont unlock. Ive had to remove the battery to get it going again. I see from the forums that Im not the only one to have this, and I would imagine its being worked on for the next rom release (which I will put on my ftp). Its not the end of the world, just a slight annoyance, especialy when I couldnt stop my alarm clock the other day !

Not quite sure what you are commenting on there ? The lock screen issue ?

I have an amoled version, not a TFT. All the 2.2 roms so far have the lockscreen freeze issue, the only fix so far seems to be to purchase WidgetLocker. I can go days withour a freeze though, so I'm not at the stage of considering that purchase, I'll just hang on to see if its fixed.

The 2.2 roms though were originaly for amoled screens though (as you state), and initialy the TFT versions wouldnt work properly (the touch screen didnt work). This was soon fixed though, and now they work on both types.

Thanks Lloydi, though I don't know why people cannot connect, I just tried it using DroidFTP and I got straight in.
I hope you have upped the correct Alpha 4...the one with Wavesecure removed and Fancywidget added is the one to use.
