Snap - for small form factor and ease of setup, its very good.

XBMCfreak (a live version pre-configured for Revo) on a USB stick, run it from that or install, and its pretty much done. Although obviously Dharma has succeeded freak now, but as Deja Vu said, the guy responsible is part of the official XBMC team now, so I presume Dharma is still very "Revo friendly".

If your the sort of person that likes to fiddle or wants that bit more from a standard install, there are lots of "add ons" and extras that you can mess with.

Thats because XBMC does not have a desktop environment and is normal.

Windowed mode is activated as Flux switches to the new Window that runs Google Chrome.
Pressing OK should load up Google Chrome with no problems. Once you close Google Chrome, XBMC will return to Full Mode again.

Anyone wanting to install Google Chrome can use the Tutorial I made a few months back - http://www.digital-forums.com/showthread.php?t=823417

    4th Spoiler down.

Theres a few other confusing installations explained in that post as well, mostly just drafts at the moment to help you at least get to grips with the setup.

Simply install them and they should add themselves to Video Addons.

Im probably being a dumbass here, but I can only find one level to adjust, and its set all the way to the right. Are there any other settings to tinker with.

Its really pissing me off, as my normal volume setting on this TV is about level 15 for all my devices, including xbmc 9 before I updated. Now I have to turn up to about level 75-80 to get any kind of a decent audio level....and you can imagine what this is like when I use another device having forgotten to turn it down after xbmc use !

I should add that if I allow the Revo to boot into Windows, the volume is normal, and doesnt require being up in the 80's.

I've installed them along with other addons but they don't want to seem to work.

I've found this (in relation to my audio issue)... "Try looking for the /etc/xbmc/live.d/ configuration directory. Look for setVolumes.sh and open it and edit /usr/bin/setAlsaVolumes and set to 100."
Given I am a self confessed linux retard, could someone give me an idiots run down on how I try this !

Open the Audio Mixer under Addons or Programs. Make sure nothing is muted on any of your sound devices. Also whack up the volumes on everything too.

Sorry forgot to say the only thing that no longer works for me is MythBox
I can watched recorded stuff, but no live TV.
They reckon it will be fixed with XBMC 11, or I could go trunk install. But I have MythTV frontend on same machine anyway, so it's no great shakes at the moment.

Grabbed XBMCFreak 10.1 Maverick livecd last night and went about to install it on my revo hard drive (http://www.xbmcfreak.nl/en/xbmcfreak...ecd%E2%80%99s/)

everything went ok, it picked up my cyberlink remote but not all keys were mapped so used this guide: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title..._XBMC_on_Linux

and all is working fine now

tbh it looks like 9.11 to me lol but i guess the nvidia drivers are newer which helps
