Default Rebooting a pc on a ups

I would like to reboot a pc on a ups. I can access the ups remotely and restart the ups. However it doesn't reboot the pc, so it seems like its holding the power. I have looked at the ups settings but not exactly sure what i am looking for.

This has http on screen and also can be telneted.
Ideally would like to shut power down to the pc for say 30 seconds to ensure it does a full reboot.

you can do a normal reboot via telnet, depending on which os you have on the pc.. (connect to pc rather than ups)

..will only be a quick google search away regardless of os - but without knowing which os...

Give us a clue mate, what type of UPS is it?

Bear in mind that most use a separate management card that you plug in as an added extra, which allows all the remote access and telnet etc. so "reboot" probably just means reboot the management card. Depending on what type of UPS it is, there could be a command to turn output power on and off.

Thing is if you powercycle the ups, do you then have a mechanism to turn the pc on (is it set to wake when power is restored/ do you have wol enabled and the mac address handy/ does it have impi enabled?)

If it's a windows box, log in as admin anywhere else, enter shutdown -i, then specify pc name and tell it to reboot, but if it's totally locked up this will then just hang for 30 secs and do nothing.

Thinking about it, I doubt this functionality would be built into most ups for one reason - how on earth would apc expect to sell switched pdu's if they gave them away free with each ups?

pc is set to reboot after power failure.
Been looking at the online manual and looks like you can.
However the screenshots in the manual i am not seeing so maybe its not enabled or may not have the management card as talked about earlier.
Heres a link to the manual if anybody can spot anything obvious for me to try.
    manual pdf file
Be a while before i can get access to see one, but if theres any info anybody needs to know by looking remotely i can find out for you.
