Sync iTunes library to another computer?

I want to hook up an old laptop out of sight to a hifi for my Dad so he can control his library from his ipad. The problem is, the library is on his new laptop, and he downloads/rips new music to it occasionally. How can I copy the new laptop library to the old laptop and have it sync weekly with an option to force sync?

just set up home share on itunes from the main pc and it will sync for him

Unfortunately that won't work as the new laptop won't always be on.

u can copy the songs over when they are on to the new machine

Ok, so just copy the whole 'itunes' folder in my music on new laptop to itunes folder on old laptop. Then set up some sort of scheduled file sync to copy any new files across?
