    Default Rewatching Firefly...

...and I still can't believe that it was cancelled.

With the exception of Heroes, probably the best first season of a show ever. It could have easily gone for 5 years.

As it is, a single season and a movie is all we got. Won't be any more movies either as the cast are all too busy dong other stuff now.

Read the comics. They are pretty good. Got a couple on my iPhone too off the app store.

I watched the series after the movie and thought the movie a good round up of what had gone before. I'm shocked it didn't get re-commissioned too.

Some people have told me this is amazing and some said it is shite. What other TV shows is it like? If someone says The Wire, I'll watch it. If someone says Lost I probably won't!

The problem was that in the US they showed all the episodes of it out of order so none of it made any sense. As such they lost a lot of viewers in the first couple of weeks. Shocking reality but I reckon someone in the US media industry is out to get Joss Whedon if you look at his other shows getting canned early Amazing as they are always hella-popular. In fact Serenity was voted #1 sci-fi movie of all time in a BBC poll a couple of years back!

Great series Firefly and Serenity was an amazing finish. All the best shows in American get canceled...
With the exception of Heroes, which started well, then turned to complete wank.

Serenity might have got number 1 film by the BBC but sales at the cinema were not amazing and the ratings on the TV show were poor. People are too busy watching American Idol or some shit, so all the decent shows just get canceled.

It's like a cross between Buffy and Star Wars but in a good way.

It was a quality TV show, shame it got cancelled. I think the movie only got made because the DVD sales of the series were through the roof. The yanks are always fecking up the running order of shows or having a massive break in the middle of a season and hey presto its gone at the end of a run. Crazy fools!
How about a positive LSD story? Would you like to see a positive LSD story on the news to hear what's it all about, perhaps? Wouldn't that be interesting just once?

Loved Firefly - another great one the yanks 'fooked' up. Got the boxset and Serenity for what its worth.

I'll say this: The Wire is the greatest television show ever made whereas Lost was ultimately a load of shite, and my opinion on Firefly is that it was a great fucking show. I hope this helps.

Did you know there is a Han-Solo-in-carbonite model hidden on the set throughout Firefly?

Just another good reason to watch it

I thought the only reason the film was made was due to fan demand. And even from that the producers didnt take the hint!

Nope - the producers, directors and cast all wanted to do more but the rights are not owned by them so they had no say. The film was made and the sets dismantled.Nothing to do with the producers not taking the hint at all.

Also Firefly was one of the most expensive sci-fi series ever made which I am sure put off the tv networks.
