desire rom help

hi guys swapped my desire hd for the original desire but it has come with defrost 6.1 which i dont like camera doesnt even work so what do i do any help would be appreciated i just want stock sense rom not bothered about root really can anyone talk me through getting from defrost to stock or rooted sense rom with working camera

You can get a stock rom but still with root from here.

I've never done it before mind. Just reboot the phone into recovery mode and wipe the phone data and then install zip from SD card. You just need to put the new rom.zip onto the root of your SD card first.

cheers but why 2 files radio and rom any ideas

Normally you have to install the Radio first and then the ROM 2nd. The radio controllers things like the 3G, WiFI, Bluetooth, GPS etc (i think) and you normally have a recommended radio to use with a rom. There is a rom with a radio built in but i've never seen that before so i'd go for the one with the separate raidio and rom.

thought id killed it then tried the rom with radio went to recovery menu deleted everyting put the file on sd and tried to load and it said update not there so im guessing zip file has to be renamed

Remember you want to install zip from sdcard and not apply sdcard:update.zip - you shouldn't need to rename it.

fixed this it was because i didnt wipe setting thanks for help
