You are right mate, FAT32 caused the limit, I forgot you mentioned you can now use NTFS! Even better, got my tracking so just waiting impatiently now

Mine's on it's way - hope it beats evilsatans Scheduled Delivery:Tuesday, 02/08/2011, By End of Day
although knowing my luck it'll arrive while I'm out for 30 seconds and I'll have to collect it from the far end of the county no doubt
I also went for the Black model. Just ordered a decent sized IDE 3.5" drive for it too.
Just in case anyone wanted to use FAT32 for compatibility there is a 4GB splitter here.
Just got mine delivered
Nice bit of kit this lads
Came updated for NTFS with a note on the box to ensure my HDD is NTFS formatted

Nope - got mine around lunchtime - been at work this afternoon and been trying to set it up for the last hour or so, got the firmware updated fine and formatted to NTFS and some iso's on to play with it - only problem I can't get past is my Win7 64 bit Dell PC doesn't like it at all - won't mount it either as a CD or HDD Seems to be a usb driver issue - but fooked if I can solve it currently (works fine on other pc's in the house running XP, Vista 32 and Win 7 32 bit - so the drive is fine
I am having problems with x64 windows 7. At first I had problems like yours so I uninstalled the device drivers in device manager under disk drives and cd drives. Then plugged in and it worked. But when copying over files from my PC or other USB HDD it will freeze and say the location on the iodd is no longer available, it will also disappear from my computer and the screen on the device will freeze.
Sometimes windows will only recognise it as a RAW file system rather than NTFS. Updating the FW dis not help so I contacted LinITX. Was hoping it was a faulty unit rather than a consistent issue.
99.9% sure it's a driver issue with 64 bit Win7 - had to use my 32 bit win 7 system to set it all up and format it - had no probs transferring around 200Gb of iso files to play with and it's run the ones I've tried so far on all the pc's apart from the single 64 bit one I use
It works fine on my X64 Windows Pro machine, Only problem I had was the front USB ports on my case weren't giving it enough power. Plugging it directly into the motherboard mounted ports worked fine though.
Regarding firmware, mine came with a label on the box saying it was already on the latest firmware and supported NTFS so I didn't do anything other than insert the drive ,format it to NTFS and create an _iso folder.
Mine also turned up today - plugged in to my Win 7 x64 machine, formatted to NTFS and it is working fine.
It also had a piece of paper stuck to the front saying it has the latest firmware - but it doesn't. There's a newer version on the official iodd website. However, according to the manual you need a x86 OS to run the firmware update??
It was a bitch fitting the 3.5" drive inside as I had to snap the plastic surround and sellotape the casing around it.
Not too happy with the dodgy up/down switch on the side - it is a bit naff and feels like it will fail after some heavy use - time will tell.
To update to the latest FW I put the iso in the _iso folder, changed the mode to CD then loaded that iso and the caddy upgraded itself. Not very helpful that there was no README or guide for updating on the website.
I am awaiting a reply from LinITX.
BTW did anyone see yesterday LinITX listed a zalman version of this drive, same price as the sale price of the iodd and in the description they said 'the iodd is dead, long live the zalman'. Apparently iodd sold the design to zalman who made some 'minor' improvements (one of which was the design to fit the HDD). Then they took the item down, I assume to clear the last of their iodd stock before putting the zalman back up. But cheeky.
Is this the new version (no stock)

Back up on the LinITX site:

I've been asked to return it as they think it is faulty, will see if they replace with a iodd or a Zalman.
Lets hope everybody else's don't turn out to be faulty or it will be lynch Mr C time.....
