Info swapping to android from ios

I've finally had enough of hanging up on people, putting them on hold/mute or generally pressing buttons when on a call to someone. So I am planning on selling my iPhone 4 and have bought me a HTC Desire HD which I am collecting on Monday.

This is going to be my first Android phone so I am wondering if anyone can offer any advice, tips, tricks or decnet apps to replace those on my iphone.

I currently mainly use my iphone for its games, photo libraray, camera, maps, youtube, alarm clock, notes, ipod and email (I know I have listed quite a bit there)

    Thanks as always

Piece of piss to use, you'll have it how you want it within a couple of weeks and the Market works like the appstore EXCEPT if you install an app and realise quickly (15mins) that you made a mistake, uninstall and you get an automatic refund!

To add to what Blaggard says, I've got desire and it's stock (not rooted etc.) and there are loads of free apps as well as ones you can buy. Really glad I got this instead of an iphone.

had the antenna problem with mine so I learnt to hold the phone "correctly" and now with all the call problems I#'ve been pushed over the edge. In other news I don't think I'll be working much between 3 and 5 on Monday

The great thing about HTC phones is the Sense UI - it's fucking wonderful.

I was look at a map on the browser, and the next time I started my GPS it asked if I wanted to go were I was previously looking at,

The games are fine, ok, so we don't have an "Epic Citadel" yet, but I imagine it wont be long.

I've never had a problem with the stock music player either, but there's plenty more (for free) on the Market.

    Have fun.

I love the Google navigation its awesome and always upto date and free, I would recommend a genuine HTC in car charger though nothing else has the power to charge these while navigating

I am also an Android fan boy. I used to be on IOS, picked up a galaxy S on a better contract and for free. Have never looked back. There isn't one app on IOS now that I miss. Android have them all.

I have to say that HTC Sense on a stock (Modaco cooked but effectively stock) ROM is so sweet I don't need to play around, I use SetCPU to control power, NOT overclocking but reducing power levels according to use, battery level etc. and it's great. I recently did a hard reset to cure a sync problem and forgot to put SetCPU back on and I was astonished, I had gotten so used to the battery life with it on that I thought I had a battery fault!

Two things to invest in is a Desk stand for charging overnight and a spare battery, never had to use them but just incase you have a heavy day with browsing etc. Desire HD is a fantastic phone once you get it set up the way you want it.

Looks like my change to droid is going to take a little longer as the guy I bought the phone from on eBay has decided he doesn't want to sell it anymore. I am furious to say the least as I now have to find another on eBay >.<

I have reported him and will be leaving negative feedback, I am absolutely devastated, £280 for a Desire HD was a great price and now I have to trawl eBay till another appears for a good price >.<
