Default Ryan Giggs, greatest pro of his generation

20 years ago today Ryan Giggs made his debut for Man United against Everton.

20 years at just one club is an amazing achievement, he's also the most decorated player in English football history, probably the greatest pro of his generation.

If only we could find a few more like him.

No arguments from me, will go down as a true legend of the European game, shame he was never able to take Wales to a major tournament. The only question is how many more games he can in a United shirt!

In that case I'll go for Maldini.

25 seasons at one club and winning 5 champions league winners medals,7 league titles and a world cup.

    only 7 league titles? Amateur

Have to agree though, Maldini is a truly outstanding player. Personally I'd put Giggs in the same bracket, but I understand maybe my club loyalties cloud that somewhat, but there aren't many players in history with the records of these two guys. Maybe we should just be grateful that those of us old enough have been lucky enough to witness two true legends play out their entire careers in front of our eyes.

Too bad couroption has played a massive part in gigg's/Maldini's success. AC Milan got caught with a little evidence back in 2006.
