Info HTC Desire...whats the current ROM situation?

I've got a bit of time on my hands latley and from what I can gather, things have changed a fair bit since I installed my froyo rom (just before it came out officially, whenever that was)

What are people currently running and what are the advantages? I'm scared of losing my game saves through re flashing(as ever) but I am curious to what I could be missing...

i'm currently running Cyanogenmod its not on HTC Sense but runs off Gingerbread, but its really good so far seen a massive improvement in battery as well using this since i am not having loads of widgets downloading data.

if you want to try something different than sense then give it a go, if you dont like it its easy to go back to leedroid.

here is the XDA link with instructions if interested. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957344

Its the first smart phone I've had and I love it, being able to surf the net on the train and all the GPS/map facilities it has are something I don't think I could live without now. The only downside is the battery life, as with all smart phones.

MIUI. Its the future. Better than any ROM i've tried before. I think its based on Froyo but runs way better than any Gingerbread ROM i've used.

Im not sure as I just did a full wipe and didn't back any thing up. You should try it though, everyone who I know who has tried it loved it. It gives the best battery life than any other rom I've used.

Titanium backup works well (although doesn't do texts) also Backup Everything (app)
I'm running Oxygen 2.01 (Gingerbread) works well and fast too. So far battery is lasting about 36 hours between charges.

I flashed mine using ROM Manager and the english version with A2SD (app 2 sd).

I didn't update my kernel as I did that the first time about 6 weeks ago I flashed the stock ROM with Cyanogenmod.

    I used the instructions here
