Apple's iPhone has generated reams of articles, all gushing about its amazing capabilities and apps. So it was not surprising to learn that some evil genius had adapted the device for his own dark purpose.
A YouTube clip, which shows a computer whiz with an adapted iPhone hijacking various broadcast screens in New York's Times Square - including it's main display - has become an internet hit.
But the very clip is a hoax - albeit an elaborate and very clever one that has duped scores of gadget lovers - and a few news websites.

It's very obviously viral advertising by Apple.
The idea that you could do such a thing with an iphone that wouldn't have been possible with a laptop and other current technology long ago is absurd.
It's clearly not done through editing so the use of the screens has been paid for... By Apple.
There's an app for that
