Default Need some serious cutthroat advice

Right I know this has been asked a million times

I have been a B T Broadband customer for 4 years in that time I've received impeccable customer services when in the odd ocasion I've had no wifi, but have been capped at peak times and had warning e-mails on there fair usage policy

I currently pay £23 month unlimited broadband 300 gig a month and can leave anytime

I've just spoke to them to say that I want a 3rd gen new home hub for free and they have refused me saying that they want a sign up if 12 months for the hub!

I give all that I'm leaving to goto sky/virgin talk and he basically said fuck off then

Is the grass greener on the other side?

I've heard that sky are offering new customers very good deals

What's your thoughts and can you direct me to the promised land for total value for money

Surely if they gave you a new hub without you signing up for 12 months you could just switch providers immediately and keep it.

If you were an existing customer with VM, they would say the exact same thing.

That said, I believe that new VM customers get installation and the 30Mb superhub for free.

    Shooooooo-ryuken!

That was the argument we had he said that if they gave me a new hub worth 92 quid without signing up I would possibly leave

    I said

As a existing customer of 4 years I should get the hub anyway, and if I wanted to leave for another ISP I would I don't need the new hub, I'm just asking for the hub as a existing customer

He then said well if you were a b t shareholder you would be displeased to hand out free new hubs to peeps that then left

Which is a fair point but I did not want to leave and as a business man you have to speculate to acummalate

He then said thank you sir and put the phone down the cunt

If your current hub was to develop a fault then perhaps they would send out the new hub...

I installed my first v3 hub the other day, looks nice but performance is yet to be seen. I personally like all the home and business hubs, IMO they beat any other free router e.g. the shite Netgear mass produced jobbies and Orange/Wanadoo crappy pyramid boxes.

The only complaint I have is the V2 model A hubs will reject all wireless connections if there is too much traffic on the wireless. A restart is required to regain wireless connectivity but this is an intermittent problem which I believe was fixed in the model B V2 hubs.

On the other hand Sky are offering genuinely unlimited broadband so if their speed and service is up to scratch they might be a decent option. We don't have Sky TV so I can't comment. Virgin cable is incredibly fast (my mate has it) but we cannot get cable here, not sure on their service compared to BT and Sky.

Check this out if you are considering the switch:

Maybe in your area but in mine the service keeps dropping every few weeks for a few days.

Get the modem replaced , post the log file from your ctm
And post the signal levels and snr.

    Plug

Refresh the page that gives signal snr a few times and post the average

If you are on the sky network then I would consider a move. My sky bb is rock solid and truely unlimited and for 7.50 a month with their free calls package you will save a bucket too.

Sorry but the title of this thread makes me laugh.

It screams, " Need some serious cutthroat advice".

I came in here expecting to read about someone asking for Halal meat slaughtering techniques or how to make a killing on the stock exchange. But no, just someone who got found out by his ISP and is crying about it.

    Bwahahahahahahaha!!

Been with Sky for a few years now and never had a problem, best BBand i've ever had, used to use the newsgroups before it was unlimited download, and not one complaint.

Also found that if you see out you initial 12 months they will pretty much bend over backwards to keep your business.

Massive improvement in customer servives comparied to how they used to be 10 years ago.

    Glad it makes you laugh

Your comment about halal meat makes me laugh, it's in the same sub section thicket

As for crying about ISP your no where near it , the emotion in question is disappointment not crying

My BT Connection was dire until recently.

I ranted on Twitter and was ready to jump, but @BTCare got in touch.

It took a few weeks and an engineer visit, but in that time they found that I had a lot of noise on the line and replaced caps and something in the box down the road.
This topped with a new socket in the house (that eliminates the need for any Micro FIlters) and my connection has gone from a maximum of 6mb (I was only getting 1.5 - 2.0 with severe drop outs) to 15mb constant!

I never rang because they make it difficult for you to speak to someone who does not treat you like a noob... But the twitter way won the day for me!
    We all make mistakes sometimes
