So public opinion is it's a bad idea to engrave such a thing of beauty, so that's a big bollock dropped then from steve jobs & co

Apple, like most global brands, cater for everyone and that includes the lowest common denominator. They know people with no taste will want their latest gadget and to cement the deal they offer shite like this. Steve Jobs wouldn't have an engraved ipad, neither would Jonathan Ive. That's why global brands have no soul, they only want more customers regardless of how tacky their 'added value' is.

I can think of much worse social faux pas than having an iTem engraved.....

• Owning a caravan or mobile home
• The average Brit's dress sense in the summer months
• The average Brit's dress sense.
• Car number plates in any other font than Ariel
• Garden gnomes
• Wearing any part of a tracksuit in public when not performing exercise
• Buying any "gossip" magazine....OK, Heat, Hello, Grazia, Who Gives A Fuck? etc
• Wearing anything fake
• Buying designer clothes for any child under 12 years old
• Putting ice cubes in wine
• Drinking mass produced piss wine (Ernst & Julio Gallo, Knots Landing, Blossom Hill etc)

In light of these the engraving seems positively chic

• MUM or DAD tattoo's
• Any item of jewellery with your name on
• Any tattoo with somebody's name

• Any item of clothing that has it's 'Label' exposed

What's even funnier is when you see people wearing said suit not realising that you are meant to take the label off, hence the reason its only attached by two threads.

I saw a girl and her b/f in the Hugo Boss concession at House of Fraser, walk up to a suit and laugh at the fact it had a "Hugo Boss" label on the cuff. Obviously never bought a suit then love?

A mate of mine bought an expensive suit and on the 'night out' he'd bought it for he turned up with the label still on the cuff. He tried desperatley to convince everyone it was meant to be. I haven't seen the cunt in ages, socially he's now an outcast.
