    Help Solar Panels

Hi guys, obviously the thought of getting solar panels fitted and reducing my electricity bills is very tempting but has anybody had any experience with the companys that advertise in local papers offering solar panels for £500? and cavity wall insulation etc?

The grants are managed by the following people http://www.energysavinggroup.co.uk/

    any experience and advice welcome.

I,m not one for cavity wall insulation as im a great believer the cavity is put there for a reason no matter how cold your house is.The cavity is to give a air flow around the outside core of your property if you block it.....problems may occur

Cavity wall Insulation will preventt no air flow or very minimum and create DAMP

Which in a property is a fucking major problem

    As for Solar panels

What sort are they and are you south facing?

I've also been interested in solar as in the long run it is a reasonable investment at the moment, the vultures are closing in tho

From the homework ive done you have to speculate to accumulate to really reep what you sow, for me with a south facing garden with a grant on top notch panels, I'm talking £7000 plus

It's money well spent if you gave got it

if the house cant breathe it sweats = damp
Only in Britain….do we use the word “politics” to describe the process of Government. “Poli” in Latin meaning “many” and “tics” meaning “bloodsucking
    creatures”

I've had mates who had it done and after they have experienced damp, like I said it's horses for courses why are the cavities there in the first place ?

Yes it can create damp patches and depends on the size of the cavity and medium used to fill it.

If you are considering solar panel you should also consider the maintenance lifecycle of the component parts that may be required. If pay back is 10-15 years then how long is the installation and kit warranted for?

Don't take life seriously. It isn't permanent.
