I don't think they're that hard to open at all, how much was the kit out of interest?

All I used was a long thin flat screwdriver out the pound shop and it took maybe 2 minutes longer than a fat 360

Perhaps some people who have found it easy could share their methods? About to do one of these myself .

All bear in mind that the new dash (Beta atm) will reflash your drive, so keep your keys safe.....

And no doubt new firmware by C4e will appear when it goes live.

Is this true about the new dash will reflash your drive ? Isn't that going to be a remarkably risky thing for MS to do ? Surely on a grand scale you are going to end up with some borked 360's.

Hmmm. I have one here to do but if they are going to keep re-flashing back then it might not be worth doing as it's for a friend who lives quite a distance. I've just been reading the JF Tut on doing the 9504 and as far as I can see it does look a piece of piss to do. No probes, no half open tray...Just plug in read and flash. Is this right or am I missing something here ?

We think the f/w flash will happen one time during the dash update, so it will allow the new disc format to be read. If it was to happen every week or so it could be a very dangerous option by m$ and end in a lot of corrupt drives, the amount of people who flash a console or drive and the power goes out is amazing. (that's sarcasm it normally means they ballsed up and say the had a power outage)

It might be implemented every dash update but we really don't know at the moment.

Just watched a vid of someone doing the 9504 flash and it really is a piece of piss. WOW !
Just one more question though. Will this new firmware flash be happening on the PHAT 360's ?
