Default A few more shots of the sun setting across the River Mersey

So experimenting with different techniques and looks. Here are 3 intense shots from tonight. The sky was very orange for sure. I'll admit the saturation and colour temp have been boosted but this is very common in sunset shots.

Foreground again is dark but I think is ok because silhouettes are the goal here.

The shot with the very large sun was minutes before it dropped below the horizon and was taken with my Sigma 105 Macro lens of all things. The other two were actually taken with the standard 18-55 Kit lens.

Ok, I know the sun is central but rules are meant to be broken and because the sun is so dominant and the main focal point, a central position felt more natural in this shot.

The next two shots you'll see are almost identical. The only difference is the position of the two girls in the shot. Trying to decide which works better. I think the first of these two is better.

    Like them a lot ian.
3rd shot is the best of the bunch imo. I like the way the girls are leaving the shot as the sun is "leaving" the sky. nice.

Although the 1st shot is a great capture of the sun, the picture doesn't do much for me, not enough interest unlike 2 and 3.

    Cheers Andy, Cliff.

I see your point MML with regards to the girls leaving the shot as the sun is. Realisation for me there .

I'm so surprised as to how well the first one came out I must admit given I used a macro lens

Got to disagree with you about the second and third, the third one for me works better although the strength of the Orange Sky is better in the second.

    Great work!
