Are you charging from USB or mains? I believe USB charges at a much slower rate than mains. (There are some posts on XDA about this and about problems with in car charges not giving enough charge when using GPS)

my missus was complaining at how hot her phone was getting last night. Guess it just builds up heat with it being dual core.

Had my Desire HD robbed last week, hopefully house insurance might send me a cheque. Should I replace the Desire HD or get the S2

I don't really want to gatecrash the mutual masturbat-a-thon over on the HTC Sensation thread... but just wanted to say that holding my Samsung Galaxy S II makes me feel so much more superior than the HTC lot its so light, thin, sexy, fast and the SuperAMOLED screen makes everything else look positively gay. In any case the Sensation will soon be superceded by the HTC Super-cali-fragil-istic-espi-ali-fucking-docious...Suckers

Does anyone know how to get the media player on SGSII to store the last position you get to in an MP3 ratrher than start it again every time you start the player. It stores the position of video but cant sussit on MP3 which is a tad annoying whilst listening to an audio book. I did try Power Amp which is good but I like the fact I can pause on the screen without having to swipe to unlock first with the musicplayer.

I bet that doesn't happen on the Sensation.
    If at first you don't succeed.....redefine success. . . .

Well the S2 turned up today, only had a quick play but WOW it's blown me away.

Super smooth and fast, really fast.

I think I'm going to enjoy Android, thanks Samsung.

    What you need:

    • A Samsung Galaxy S2
    • A Windows PC
    • A USB DATACABLE
    • Odin Downloader (Download Here)
    • Download the attached XWKDD, but do NOT extract the .tar file (Download Here)
    • Download and extract SuperOneClick (Download Here)
    • Put device in USB debugging mode: Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging

    Step One
Reboot your device into download mode Turn the device off, then power it on again by pressing and holding VolumeDown + Home + Power simultaneously.

    Step Two
    Start ODIN Downloader

    Step Three
Connect the device to your computer using USB.
Wait a few seconds, the ODIN screen should show you that a device is now connected.
tick the checkboxes next to “Auto reboot” and “F. Reset Time” and leave everything else as is.
Press the “PDA” button, and select the “XWKDD_insecure.tar” file.
Press “Start”. ODIN you should now be flashing the kernel, and the device should reboot.
DO Not Remove the cable and Wait until the device is rebooted.

    Step Four
Once the device is rooted and while still connected via USB
    Start SuperOneClick, and press ROOT
    Reboot the device
That’s all folks! You should have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy S2.

OK my new shiny S2 has the following specs :
    Model GT-I9100
    Android ver 2.3.3
    Baseband I9100XXKE4
    kERNEL 2.6.35.7-I19100XWKE7-CL215725 root@DELL103 #2
    Build number GINGERBREAD.XWKE7

Am I good to go for rooting using the method above ?
Don't want to brick my shiny new toy !

Oh and is anyone having problems with Applanet ? It keeps coming up with a network error although it goes to the site but no apps are visible. Are there any other alternatives ?
