    Help Possible JTAG console?!

    Guys,

Looking for some advice please. I have been handed a fully working x360 with dash 2.0.7363.0 (I'm sure this has Ixtreme 1.5 on which I can sort later)

I would like to get this JTAG'd and would like some pointers in what method to go. Its looks like a Xenon Motherboard using a 203W PSU.

Do you recommend the Xecuter NAND / tips etc

My soldering skills might not be up to scratch either. Not touched since PS1 days, so its been a while.

I appreciate any feedback as I don't want to screw this up.

    Cheers

I used the nand-x which I purchased from Modtraders (of course). If you can handle a PS1 modchip solder, you will have no bother.
I originaly started to install via pin header but quickly realised it was much faster to solder the wires directly.
Also take care of your efuse link while the board is out of the case, don't put it all back in and then remember it.....obviously I didnt in any way do that ;-)

    Tronads / BIG-TED - Thanks.

Will get reading up, find the old 15w solder iron and order up a NAND-X kit from Modtraders.

Appreciate the time taken to reply back to me - Cheers!

Right, back - this is doing my box in.

Used Team X - white boards on top of mobo, soldered on fine all connected up - no flash controller detected. So lets check the soldering, seems fine - ok De-solder the lot and start again (De-Solder Braid / Flux)

Same again - so didn't fancy Pin Header, thought direct wires - all perfectly soldered on again - cannot detect flash device.

The dash was brought up to 7371 on and old Xenon board.

    Now looking for help!

    Sorry!!!

(The Nand-X device shows orange and red lights, and the Xbox PSU is orange)

you have to have power plugged in to box but not switched on. i know it sounds basic but so many people over look this stage.

Power definitely has to be off.
Can you take a photo of what you have done and put it up for us to look at.

I'll try and get pics up soon.

I've now all but given up. Each time I clean the solder points, De-Braid and flux. Each time I re-cut the wires, tin and load with solder. That's the best part of 3 days and over 10-12 times doing this.

I'm starting to wonder if its my NAND-X that's guff?

Anyhow, xbox is all back in its case rebuilt for now - powers on fine, dash loads up.

I'm going to give it a few days as I can see me snapping this mobo pretty soon!

Thanks for the help guys, appreciated!

I've just got my hands on an exploitable machine and was looking forward to attempting the J-Tag, after reading this I'm a little apprehensive now lol

Littlebilly - Don't let my experience here put you off. Plenty of guys here have no problems at all with the Jtag. Just seems to be me LOL!

As I say - I put it all back together and it boots fine as a standard box for now.

    Best of luck!

Think I'm possibly the only one who doesn't bother with freestyle

I just use iso2god then FTP games over and any arcade stuff just shows up anyway and for the odd emulator I use quickboot which gives you a god container to use from from game section on dash

I use FSD on mine, but if the truth be known, I'd probably just stick with the stock dashboard If It would allow me to crank up the system fan speed like FSD does. I run mine at 75% in an effort to prolong the consoles life, and it ramps up as soon as the console boots into FSD now.

Can't do fuck all now , like a dick I forgot to flash the drive whilst I had it open. I opened it back up and snapped the fucking yellow wire from the J-Tag QSB as I put it back together, are they available to buy separately?

EDIT:- Never mind just spotted them on modtraders
