Sorry to hear it Det, i feel for you and all your family. My nephew was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 2, thankfully all the chemo paid off and he's been in remission 5 years. Worst desease ever we should have a total cure by now Thoughts are with you though mate

Really feeling for you mate - my Dad's recently been diagnosed with it outside his prostate and we thought the treatment was doing the trick till he told me the other day that its in his bones. Can only hope this medication keeps it in check as i know i'd be a wreck, and wouldnt have a clue how to explain it to my 2 young girls who adore him.

You have my undiluted sympathy, we lost my nephew (26) just a few weeks ago to different circumstances. It doesn't sink in ever. If you're anything like me you will have several "moments" and they don't get better. I went to his grave today (I live a good distance away, so visits aren't as much as I would like) and can tell you the feelings of guilt for what I never did, pride for what he did and utter despair really mix your head.
If I can offer a tiny suggestion, don't try to get over it, because you won't. Just try to live with it and spend time remembering good times.

What a pisser.

Found out last night that afriends little girl who was at nursery with my youngest has some kind of extremely rare cancer that is going to require her to live in in Manchester (Christys?) for 27 weeks of intensive chemo, followed by further chemo then radio therapy, to try and shrink it so they can operate (its too close to the brain currently). Its not looking good atall, and this girl is 8. So fucking sad.

Thoughts are with your whole family.
Been through this myself numerous times over the years and the biggest one for me was my cousin who I was very close to. They mis-diagnosed him and after telling us he was OK things took a dramatic turn for the worst.. I also never met my grandparents thanks to it.

Have a very close uncle at the moment who had 6 months to live nearly 3 years ago and is looking very well although it is still there...

Take it easy as best you can.

Horrible disease, took my Dad a few years ago, though no chemo as he was inoperable when the tumours were found. Cancer literally sucks the life out of people, and you are forced to watch
