the worst news

got a call earlier on that our nephew has passed away from cancer, i posted a while back that the doctors had given him 3 months to a year to live, today sadly he passed away in intensive care and we got the call a few hours ago, our lass is in a right state and i can see her ending up in the hospital tonight. fucking horrible disease this.

he was also receiving chemo up until a couple of weeks ago and to be honest that i do believe made him worse, the docs said it was to prolong his life but i think its what brought his death forward.

not looking forward to the next few days, i hate funerals.

As for the chemo - it's flipping expensive, if the docs didn't think it would do him any good they wouldn't have bothered with it - there are much better options if they just wanted to stick to the palliative care route. Unfortunately chemo knocks seven bells out of human bodies, especially the immune system, thats why some people end up having good spells and bad spells on it

Cancer is an evil thing, has taken my Dad and Grandad away from me, all before my 16th birthday.

I pray that they make some breakthroughs in the future, to battle this evil disease...
