Thanks Goldberg, reading this thread a few days ago has really given me a kick up the ass and got me back into my running. I find especially if you run early in the morning it gives you a real buzz right thru the day.

This is true, and if you delay it you wont go!
That is why when my alarm goes off I am out of bed and on the road, regardless of the weather. I find after the first few minutes I am awake, and when I get back after the run I am 'In the Zone'.
Looking forward to tomorrow. I am at a few Stag Weekends over the next couple of months, I am already planning runs on google maps and uploading them to my MiCoach as routes for the time

Good work M8 keep it up
Just over 5k today and fuck it felt good!
Just under 30 mins with a mix of terrain.
The app is awesome, check this out.

Has anyone got any experience of bluetooth heart rate monitors?
Another 5k this morning, but as stupid as this sounds I wore the wrong socks!
Blisters on the soles of both feet and on the back of my left heel.... I knew when I put them on they would not be adequate... I know for Wednesday now.
Went ok, still hard work but some good music is the key to keep you going. Feel awesome today

6.5k today in 34 minutes.
www.walkjogrun.net (probably mentioned before) is an excellent site which enables you to plan routes. I had an idea of today's route in my head but did not know the distance. When I planned it I thought, 6.5k.... bring it on!
I know it does not sound like a lot to experienced runners, but it felt good and I will do the route again. More downhill than uphill on the route, I would hate to do it backwards!
Today's problem is a re occurrence of the Blisters I got on both insteps from the last run with the wrong socks. I believe I now have blisters in blisters which is very painful and I am worrying that Fridays run may suffer...
Someone suggested compeed plasters and I have some on now, hopefully these will help and I can do the same route Friday.
Again I have to big up MiCoach on the iPhone, it seems to pull the best tunes out for the run and keeps me very well informed on how I am doing. My km times are very consistent to at around 5m25s per km - even towards the end of the run which is up hill.
So, continuing on with this. The biggest challenge is getting up an hour earlier each day, but I will sort my body clock out regardless.
I am finding that doing a route twice and then changing it keeps it interesting. I also find smaller streets on the way back to give you something to aim for also helps. If you finished on a long stretch it can make you want to give in, but little streets with plenty of turns keeps you going.
I know it has only been a couple of weeks, but I feel much better and my body is toning up as a result. I have ordered one of those waterbottles in the shape of an 'O' and also an arm strap for the iPhone.
Eddie Izzard, watch out!

Dont think this has been mentioned yet and i know i'm probably stating the obvious but dont forget the stretches before and after your runs mate. Have a look at this site for a bit of info if it helps http://www.goodrunguide.co.uk/

I dont stretch before a run but i do walk briskly for five minutes to get the muscles warmed up. I also walk for a few minutes after the run to warm down and then follow with a few stretches which i find really helps
Yeah I do a little stretching and a good walk about with some stretching afterwards.

Not sure if they have been mentioned before, but 1000 mile socks rock!
Expensive at £11 a pair, but they apparently guarantee no blisters (and mine did not reoccur today) as well as protect the Achilles tendon.
Had 4 days off running as I was on a Stag weekend, was tough today on the ankles!

Hit the 100k barrier today after my 10k early morning run!
I am feeling fantastic and it is a hell of an achievement from never running before.
Got small blisters and cramp in the calfs today, but it will not stop me!
Looking forward to 1000k now! But I think 500k will be the next real milestone.

1st 15km done today. Feet aching, knee sore, little blisters, toes hurting but I feel fantastic for doing it!
Oh and Joggers nipple.
OK new Personal Best today - 10km in 47:40
Ditched the MiCoach (although I am logging runs on it) and I am now using a Garmin 405cx with the Heart Rate monitor.
Very very accurate, MiCoach was cutting corners and losing GPS all the time despite been on my arm in open areas.
I have now racked up 307km since I started and have burnt over 20,000 calories.
Feeling very very good for it now. I tend to do every other day, 10km on a weekday and then a 15+ on a weekend.
Ankles are OK, one blister is persistent but not as bad as it was at the start. Got a 15% off voucher for running gear at GoOutdoors for this weekend and it just so happens I will be at a wedding near a store so I will be filling my boots with new gear in prep for the rainy/cold season
