Plenty of bee activity on the wild flowers by the canal this afternoon - here is a young bee feeding on the flower head of the giant hogweed plants.

There were perhaps a couple of dozen of them working the area, though there is not much pollen on these flowers, it didn't seem to stop them searching.

Note I had botched up the camera settings on this - and as a result the ISO was on 1600... The 550D has handled it pretty well though, with only a small amount of noise reduction in Lightroom before hitting Photoshop.
