doubt you will find anything hackney way mate, there's a few gypsy sites if you fancy your luck there. i knew a few people that used to brind caravans down to london for work and they used to stay up lee valley way but not sure where.

You won't find anything down the Marshes. Might be worth having a look at the travel lodge website maybe they have some deals during that time.

There are no camping places to park a caravan around Hackney that I know of and to park your car on the street your looking at around £5 to £6 per hour for 10 hours a day in most of the area and don't forget the £10 congestion charge if your in the zone.
Leave the van at home check gumtree for a place to crash for a week if your slumming it or as posted above travelodge.
The one on old street is usually around 80 quid a night.
Or you could try slipping the parking attendant a ton to camp in the pear street Ec1v car park.. Its been done before 8o)

I agree with richibeno, they are about, just spread very thin.
Best option is to get someplace to camp around Outer London and commute in everyday on the bus. Jobbed.
The recommended is Lee Valley in Lower Edmonton. Getting into Hackney from there is about 8ish miles and easily done by bus.
The 149 from Edmonton Green to London Bridge clips Hackney on the way through, I reckon 10 minutes walk from Dalston Juction.
Cheap for Tourers too.
AND - they have cabins for £45 per night.

I'm afraid that caravan sites situated away from holiday destinations and particularly within Greater London are going to be Traveller sites, find cheap digs with a nice breakfast.
