PS3 HDD Backup Questions

Just doing a backup of a friends PS3 that I have for a couple of weeks.
If I delete the user, game saves or demo will these all be restored when I run the restore process, so it will be identical to it is now.

Guess the actually firmware is not backed up.

Sorry if this is really obvious I am new to the PS3.

yes m8 it should work just fine as long as uve backed up the whole system i think it takes about 40 minutes 2 do so...however say hes on 3.65 firmware and he wants to put it on 3.55 system it wont work cuz of the firmware,if same firmware was on the other system then it will work..hope it goes smooth
