you can install Lion on all of the Macs in your household for a one off payment. All you do is log in to a machine with the Mac App Store account and it shows up in "Purchased"

In theory you can download/install on as many macs as you have set as "Authorised" with Apple (5) but there's nothing stopping you installing with the installer file alone

FWIW, apple set Snow Leopard up for a straight upgrade to Lion. The last maintenance release said ...

    What's included?
    • Enhancements to the Mac App Store to get your Mac ready to upgrade to Mac OS X Lion.

Just installed, Install took exactly an hour on my Macbook c2d. Had to do a Java update when back up and running but otherwise all good.

Love the smart zooming, the fast app switching (mission control) is sweet and it was odd at first with the gesture scrolling back to front (as in you now drag the page rather than dragging the scroll bar) but after a few minutes it feels natural. You now drag up to go down, like on an iPhone screen.

3 finger swipe up is mission control (the fast app switcher) 3 fingers to the left for the dashboard (which i've never used) - well actually it's swipe right to go to the left, sounds odd but it's remarkably intuative

What else do I need to be playing with ?

I just changed the scrolling direction in "preferences".

Might be an obvious thing, but following the clean install I installed Paragon NTFS 7.0.2 to access my NTFS external HDD. It didn't work and stopped the NTFS drives from mounting altogether. When I disabled the driver in Paragon settings it worked fine - so I removed Paragon and all is OK.

I see that V9.0.0 and V9.0.1 are on newsgroups at the moment, has anyone had any luck with these or an alternative?

It allows you to write to NTFS as well as read. There is a hack around the terminal but this is known to be unstable?

I used to use paragon but eventually found I didn't have any ntfs discs anymore so this is a decent reason to get rid for me.
