    Photos Coniopterygidae - White Lacewing.

Very small Lacewing type flies that tend to come out later in the evening. This little guy was about 3mm in length. First shot was taken with the Sigma 105 and a 12mm Ext. Tube. The second shot was taken with the 105 and a 36mm ext. tube.

The fluffy white stuff you see all over it is a wax that they produce themselves.

    Cheers Guys.

Paul, I could have swore I'd replied to this thread earlier but it seems my post has gone missing... either that or I'm hallucinating

Anyway, you'll often find them on privit hedges when the bigger flies have gone for the evening. I'm sure you'll have them Paul

Very nice Ian, nailed the focus as well, not easy with such little beasties.
