Skype on Android

Need some advice here chaps,
Is it possible to use Skype on an Android device solely on the WIFI.
Or has it got to be done through the Data Connection via your minutes etc.

What i want is to be able to use it purely on my VM Wireless Router killing the need for a PC to be on for Skype or having a Subscription to a provider. IE a Sim with no credit or contract.
And if so which device and as cheap as possible as i got pissed off paying line rental for a landline and if this works i can use it at hotspots etc as a bonus.

Not really looking for other voip providers yet,but maybe i should. Just not now.

You can just use wifi if you wish, probably best looking at an orange San Francisco or the Samsung currently on hotukdeals for 39.99 from O2 should do the job fine

You can soley use it on wifi,

If your asking how to set this up, just turn the data connection off on the phone,

PS, its was shit on hspda when I last tested it (6 months ago), so I now use Fring which is flawless on both wifi and hspda.

Cheers Fellas,food for thought there i will look into them.As it will be on a VM connection it should be ok.HSDPA was shite all the time i ever had to use it as well,not just Skype but data as well.
I will look at Fring but for now that might do me fine.
