What ive read on the internet i will need a 1.2m dish to get the epl channels.

I have checked and the channels wizzo has is very similiar to mine.

Im getting 40 snr on that and its just a blank screen. does that meant i should be fine

its blank all the time untill about 15 mins before each game im getting about 48% snr in newcastle ive got a triax 1.1 meter dish

Just my 2 cents i have a 1.1m with a black ultra and on a nice sunny or fine day get around 60% snr on all the viasats some of the other beams drop to around 53%.

Just tried this morning on the XtraPL channels in heavy rain and i still get around 47% and a good quality no breakup picture, I think some of you guys on 80's and maybe even the 90's will struggle in very bad weather.

Every install i do i ask the customer if they want 4 east and always advise at least 1.1m and above for viasat, Saying that the 80's i install still get around 65% for 16 east for tring and digitalb sport and at least 90% and above for 13 and 19 east.

I'll stick with the many packages on 19.2e, then. I would be very happy with just that (19.2e) one satelite.

The viasat HD channels are locked to the original card and box so cannot be viewed without an official subsription which of course comes with the official box.

I was struggling to pick up tring this weekend with the shite weather.

I did pick up 3 hd channels on 0.8e though that looked very promising.

can most of the footy matches be found else where other then tring. Im not sure weather i can get viasat or not yet either.

@ matthew, viasat is the *only* satellite provider showing *all* premiere league games.. now admittently I don't know what's where appart from viasat as I leave all the 'nitty gritty' down to a pal of mine.. you can check a few days before each match on liveonsat.com and that site will tell you where the matches are.. but only a few days before hand..

Personally I'd aim for viasat and leave tring etc as a fallback plan.. I've had one or two people mention their dissapointment last season as someone set them up on tring and they missed 7 or 8 crucial (local) games last season.. viasat didn't miss any..

Im not sure my 88cm dish can get a good signal for via sat but we will see.

Is there a better quality dish out there. The one the installer has used looks very cheap. If i changed that with a triax dish would it make a differnce?

The problem with viasat as i have already mentioned you need a big dish for reliable reception from the Nordic BSS beam, for reliable reception here in the north of england i would recommend a good 1.0m dish minimum or if you can go for it get a 1.25m so that any heavy rain will not reduce quality.

as far as the EPL if you want the games in HD but not all of them and for good reception from an 80cm you need to be looking at 1 west,30 west,13 east,19 east if your not fussed about HD then also 39 east and 16 east the last one for the tring package if they have the games this year.

So i should still be able to get most of the games but some wont be in hd.

I cant wait for the premiership to start so i can realy see what its like
